Some of the bigger totems are double-sided, their mood and color loosely marked by current political and social events. A series of black totems are a comment on repeated stock market crashes -- Black Monday (1986), Friday 13 (1989) and Black Wednesday (1992), not to speak of the latest bank failures of 2008 and beyond.
Others are themed on Water or Earth, mixing environmental and societal commentaries. Most pieces, such as a series of triptychs, red or black totems, mix sculptural and jewelry-inspired compositions.
